Ganne Finishes Tied 20th at ANWA

England's Lottie Woad captured the title, shooting 3-under 69 with clutch birdies on Nos. 15, 17 and 18 to edge Bailey Shoemaker by one shot after Shoemaker recorded a bogey-free 6-under 66 on Sunday.

Ganne had an up and down final day, playing her first five holes in 4-over par after making three bogeys and a double while also adding a birdie on the par-4 third. She settled in for the remainder of the round, adding birdies on Nos. 7, 9 and 16 to go with a trio of bogeys (Nos. 12, 17, 18) for her 4-over 76 at Augusta National.
Ganne now turns her focus to the end of her sophomore campaign at Stanford University. The Cardinal next play in the Pac-12 Championships, April 21-23 in Pullman, Wash.
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (April 4, 2024) -- For the second straight year, Megha Ganne has earned a spot in the final round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur. The Holmdel, N.J., native carded rounds of 70-74 over the first two days of play at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., and enters Saturday's round at Augusta National Golf Club tied for 13th at even-par.

Ganne registered a bogey-free 2-under 70 in the opening round on Wednesday. The field took advantage of soft conditions after morning rains delayed the start of play by an hour. While 28 players broke par that day, just five players posted sub-par scores on a more challenging day Thursday. Ganne carded a 2-over 74 to return to even par for the championship, registering three birdies along with five bogeys. This is Ganne's fourth year playing in the event, with her best finish being a tie for ninth last year.
A cut was made following the opening 36 holes of play, with 35 players posting scores of 3-over or better to earn a final round tee time on Saturday. Lottie Woad of England owns a two-shot lead entering the final round, shooting scores of 68-71. Woad and Gianna Clemente (70-71) were the lone players to post under-par rounds both days.
On Friday, the entire field of 72 players will have a practice round at Augusta National. On Saturday, NBC Sports will produce and broadcast three hours (Noon-3 p.m. ET) of live final-round coverage of the Augusta National Women's Amateur.

The Holmdel, N.J., native and Stanford University sophomore this week makes her fourth appearance in the Augusta National Women's Amateur, following four National Final appearances in the Drive, Chip and Putt as a junior.

Ganne, who logged a top-10 finish last year, tees off on Wednesday at 9:32 a.m., alongside Charlotte Heath of England and Louise Rydqvist of Sweden. Ganne earned Honorable Mention All-America honors during her freshman season at Stanford and this year is compiling an impressive record, with a win in the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach, a runner-up finish in the East Lake Cup at Atlanta Athletic Club in the fall and six top-15 finishes overall on the season. She'll have plenty of familiar faces around here in Augusta, as four of her current Cardinal teammates also earned invitations to the tournament.
This year's international field contains 72 women who will compete over 54 holes of stroke play. Wednesday and Thursday's first two rounds take place at Champions Retreat Golf Club (Island and Bluff nines), after which a cut will be made to the low 30 players and ties. The final round will take place at Augusta National Golf Club on Saturday, April 6.
Ganne, currently No. 53 in the Women's World Amateur Golf Ranking, will aim to make her second appearance in the final round. Last year, Ganne opened with rounds of 73-70 and finished with a 74 at Augusta National to finish tied for ninth.
The first and second rounds will be broadcast live on Golf Channel (1:30-3:30 p.m. ET) from Champions Retreat Golf Club. NBC Sports will produce and broadcast three hours (Noon-3 p.m. ET) of live final-round coverage of the event at Augusta National.
