Foundation

Foundation

Since its founding in 1991, the MGA Foundation has impacted thousands of individuals throughout the Met Area by providing access to developmental programs both on and off the golf course. The MGAF's initiatives include the GOLFWORKS student-intern program, junior competitions and youth golf access, caddie initiatives including annual Caddie Academies, adaptive golf programming, and support of local and national programs, including First Tee-Metropolitan New York, to fulfill the mission to help preserve the game's past and protect its future.

Become A Caddie

Throughout the Metropolitan area, hundreds of young men and women are experiencing golf first hand by becoming a caddie.  Responsibility, hard work, exercise and camaraderie are all skills that a caddie will experience throughout a summer.  Not only are the immediate financial benefits important but caddies build relationships with employers and club members that become part of a long lasting professional network.

Educational Programs

The MGA Foundation annually sponsors a Spring Educational Series, a month-long program of educational forums. The programs are designed to educate club leaders and the golfing public about a wide range of topics of interest to Met Area golfers, including Rules, handicapping procedures, new technology and MGA and MGA Foundation services and programs. The MGA also participates in the annual golf shows held in Westchester County, Long Island and New York City.
